Oko Ilu in solitary cell after making calls from prison

A notorious cultist, Rasheed Hammed, popularly known as Oko-ilu, who was remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre has been moved to a solitary cell after making calls from his cell, OsunDaily gathered. 

Oko Ilu who allegedly terrorised residents of  Ede in Osun State, was remanded last year by a Chief Magistrate court in Osogbo. 

According to sources, Oko Ilu, a welder by vocation has been making calls from his cell, giving orders to his men to carry out some nefarious acts. 

It was gathered that the notorious cultist have been controlling his gang members from the cell.

However, the police got a hint of Oko Ilu's activities from his cell and moved swiftly to curtail it by informing the correctional authorities. 

Following a complaint from the police, sources said the correctional officials moved him to a single cell with 24-hour surveillance. 

Meanwhile, OsunDaily gathered that police have started the hunt for the people Oko Ilu was calling while in the cell with the aim of arresting more of his men. 

It would be recalled that the police arrested Oko Ilu last year after three months of being declared wanted for committing various capital offences.

Oko-ilu was arraigned on a nine-count charge at a Chief Magistrate Court in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The charge includes conspiracy to commit felony, unlawful killings, engaging in unlawful society, and illegal possession of arms among others.

Chief Magistrate, Olusegun Ayilara, ordered the suspect to be remanded in custody due to the magnitude of the offences allegedly committed.
