 By Jeleel Olawale

A House of Assembly candidate in Osun State, Prince Adeyinka Adejobi has described the participation of youths in politics as encouraging, saying youths have raised the political bar in the country.

Adeyinka made the disclosure in an interview with our correspondent.

According to him, the youths have been occupying political offices in the country unlike in the past, "Youths now take what actually belongs to them and have taken over governance in the country. The youths have the largest voting strength in the country and believe in themselves."

He noted that the advocacy for youths active participation in politics has been yielding fruitful results, stressing that the youths have taken centre stage in politics.

"There are intellectual among the youths and they know what they want. The advocacy for youths active participation in politics is high. We have been sensitizing ourselves on the need to involve in active politics. The youths have good antecedent in progressive party until PDP came and brought old people.

"The not-too-young-to-run which has become law, is a booster to the youths advocacy. The world is evolving and we need to evolve and we need to give youths power and space to operate.

"The youths have intellectual capacity to make things happen through technology available for them. The youths will take over presidency as soon as the elderly ones leave the stage. Youths have been elected into House of Assembly and National Assembly and are doing fine.

"So youths still need guidance, experience of elderly ones to stabilize the system then, youths could take over presidency as it happens in many developed countries of the world", Adeyinka averred.

Adeyinka described Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the best choice for Nigerians and there is no alternative to him, "He is the only choice we have and that is the best we can have at this point in time".

He said Tinubu laid foundation for Lagos state which other governors are building on, adding that the APC presidential candidate has what it takes to govern Nigeria as he is the right man for the job and represents the change Nigerians have yearning for.

"He transformed Lagos to largest  economic city in Africa. He has the capacity to govern Nigeria at this critical period," he said.

Adeyinka who is the APC candidate for the Osun State House of Assembly, Ife central state constituency, promised to do things differently if elected, saying he knows where the shoe pinches the community.

"I will formulate policies that will better the lives of the community through good legislation. They will witness legislative brilliance in the assembly. I understand legislative roles and the needs of the people in the community.

Speaking on the ongoing election petition tribunal, Adeyinka said APC has confident in judiciary because is the last hope of common man, adding that the party has good case before the tribunal.

"With the evidence brought before the tribunal, I believe that the tribunal will declare Governor Adegboyega Oyetola as validly elected Governor. APC won going by total valid votes cast.

We have faith in the tribunal because members of the tribunal are people of impeccable characters. The tribunal will expose malpractices perpetrated by the PDP.

Adeyinka, therefore, urged youths to shun violence before, during and after the 2023 General elections and not to allow themselves to be bought by politicians who do have their interest at heart.
