APC Convention: Ibiyemi congratulates Tinubu

A House of Representatives aspirant in the 2022 Primary Election of the All Progressives Congress for Ife federal constituency, Dr. Samuel Ibiyemi has congratulated Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu on his victory as presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2022 presidential primary  election of APC.

In a letter of congratulation he personally signed, Ibiyemi who said the outcome of the election process had shown that Tinubu was the popular choice of the party for the assignment.

“Your glittering track record of public service, foresight and grit in party building and administration, as well as the courage you continue to demonstrate in fighting for the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria make you worthy of the high esteem and trust of our party members everywhere in Nigeria and abroad as exhibited at the National Convention.

"I am elated and proud that the Presidential primary was manifestly free and fair, and conducted within our APC Family under a most convivial atmosphere. The outcome of the election process has shown that you are the popular choice of our party for that assignment.

"I have no doubt that with your credentials, experience, antecedents and political sagacity, our great party will go into the 2023 contest with confidence of overwhelming victory. Tinubu’s victory was a well-deserved one, considering his years of working for the entrenchment and strengthening of democracy in Nigeria," the letter read.

He said with Tinubu's victory, APC stands a good chance of retaining power in 2023, stating that Nigerians across the board recognised his contributions to our nation’s development.

Ibiyemi who described Tinubu as a dogged fighter who stood his ground to compete in the presidential primary in a democratic manner, saying the presidential candidate remains a hero.

"Asiwaju had the capacity to provide the needed leadership that would consolidate on the country’s democratic gains. The process of the APC presidential primary was free, fair and credible. This, according to him reaffirmed that the emergence of a Southern candidate as a standard flag bearer would again establish ground for justice, fairness, unity and political stability of the nation," he further said.

Ibiyemi then charged all party members to remain united and focused as the party march with Nigerians to victory in 2023.
