Osun 2022: APC will win- APC stalwart

By Jeleel Olawale

A stalwart of the All Progressive Congress, Mr Kayode Ogundele has said that the All Progressive Congress would win the coming Osun governorship election scheduled to hold July, 2022.

Ogundele, who is a former chairman of the party in Ile-Ife said that People's Democratic Party cannot stop APC from winning the poll, stressing that victory certain for APC.

The former APC boss noted that Osun residents still has confident in APC because the governor has performed well in the development of the state.  The problem confronting the nation is not caused by the APC but are issues that affected all nations of the world.

"The governor cannot afford to disappoint people in second term, people should have hope in APC for second term. Oyetola is a gentle man who cannot let them down.

It is true that electorates are afraid of electing governor for second term in Nigeria but Oyetola I know, cannot misuse the office if given the opportunity".

Speaking on the internal crisis in the party, Ogundele avered that former governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola has right to belong to any group within the APC, " he made his choice by declaring for The Osun Progressive (TOP) a group within the APC.

"Aregbesola is a leader in APC and has worked for the party, made the party take over government in Osun and he would not want the party to fail. Aregbrsola he's said we all members of APC, so he had laid ground for reconciliation.

I don't like the way TOP is pursuing it's cause at this material time. Anybody can belong to any group. I don't belong to group because of ugly situation I found myself during Bisi Akande regime as a governor, I was in exile and prison for two years, and my father's houses were burnt down".

He stressed that all members would come together to resolve their differences though reconciliation is ongoing. The crisis is manageable, " the aggrieved would technically find means to come together.

Ogundele bemoaned some members of the governor's kitchen cabinet of campaign of calumny which is counter productive to the party, but they don't even care that everybody belongs to the party.

He opined that a special adviser on political matters who ought to play a conciliatory role, a link/mediator between the aggrieved members but was unfortunately crucifying and played separatist role among groups in the party even resulted to  unprinted names.

"We should be ready for reconciliation in the interest of the party. We need right attitude to bring people together".

Reacting to the abandoned Ife dualisation road, the former APC boss said the contractor has been mobilised back to the site as work is ongoing. He, however, thanked senator Babajide Omoworare for his contributions to the dualization of the road.
