Rural Development: Osun LG Commission boss tasks officers

Community Development officers working in the Local Government Areas in the State of Osun have been admonished to make meaningful impact towards the development of the communities were they work.


The Chairman Local Government Service Commission in the state, Elder Tunde Adedeji gave the advice while declaring open a 3-day  workshop on "Community  Development as an Instrument for Sustainable Grassroots Transformation and Socio-economic Development" held at  the Local Government Service Commission Multi-purpose Hall.

Elder Adedeji emphasized that the present administration was interested in investing in human resources in a bid to equip the skills and intellectual capacity of it's workers for better performance in their official duties.  

The Commission's boss noted that the workshop will assist participants to establish among the people, cooperative and harmonious relationship and to bring about gradual and self - chosen changes in the lives of the people in the Community. 

He however warned that the Local Government Service Commission will not tolerate any act of indolence among staff, saying act lateness and absenteeism should be totally shunned. 

In his address of welcome, the managing Consultant of Christus Venture and Management Services Mr. Femi Osunro appraised the State Government under the leadership of Mr. Gboyega Oyetola for creating a peaceful environment and an appreciable infrastructural development since it's inception. 

Mr. Osunro opined that the training programme is a right step in the right direction as it will help participants to inculcate among members of the community a sense of citizenship and spirit of civic consciousness.
