Eight persons were on Wednesday arraigned before the magistrate court sitting in Osogbo for attacking and inflicting machete injuries on police officers.
They are : Oladimeji Abdullahi(25),OyetunjiJoel(50),Rahmon Saheed(28),Samuel Agustine(29),Abioye Taye (27),Abioye Sunday(35),Muritala Dare(67),Abosede Adediran(23)
The suspects were arraigned before magistrate Olusegun Ayilara on Nine-count bordering on conspiracy, assault,maliciously damage of property,murder attempt and armed robbery.
The accused persons were said to have attacked group of police men by using gun,machete,cutlass, and sticks to obstruct them while
performing their lawful duty.
The accomplice were said to have inflicted machete on their heads and bodies,stabbed them,which eventually sustained injury on their heads and other parts of the bodies.
They were said to have attempted murder to three police officers,Ogunleye Gbenga,Olukotun Bunmi,Omopariola philip by stripping them naked and spilled petrol on their body with the intent to roast them alive.
The accused were also accused of stealing a Techno spark 3, and itel x12, phones, one wristwatch,one chain, valued and three guns inside the bus.
They were also said to have destroyed Suzuki mini bus (korope) valued 1.5million, the bus which the police officers were in.
According to the details of the charges,the offences were committed on October 21,2019 at Oyan town in Osun State.
The offences were said to be contrary to and punishable under section 516,249,(d),355,338,335,356(2),451,320,(2),402(a) of the criminal code cap 34 voll 11 laws of Osun States of Nigeria 2002.
The defence counsel,Tunbosun Oladipupo pleaded to commit the accused to bail, but the application was turned down by the magistrate.
The presiding magistrate,Olusegun Ayilara eventually adjourned to December 18 for mention.
