10 bag first class as Kings university holds maiden convocation

Ten students will be awarded with first class honours as Kings university, Odeomu, osun state holds it first convocation billed to hold on Friday, October 25, 2019.
Also, 45 will be graduating with second class upper, 8 with second class lower and 1 with third class divisions.
The vice chancellor of the institution , Professor Oladiran Famurewa disclosed this during the convocation press briefing on Wednesday held the university as part of the activities marking the first convocation ceremony of the institution.
He said although eigthy-four students were admitted and matriculated in 2016, sixty-four would be graduating from the institution.
He said professor Michael Faborode would deliver the convocation lecture titled: " Adding Value To The Environment Through Enterprising Graduates.
Highlighting some of the achievements of the school, the vice chancellor said the university had made good effort to pursue product-oriented activities.
He said the University has collaborated with industries in the area of research.
Famurewa said, " The present management has recorded excellence in all ramifications. We have made great efforts to pursue product-oriented activities and also collaborating with the industries. To this end, studies on Biofuel using waste materials from the industry is ongoing with very promising outcome. Likewise our collaborations with some institutions has been quite encouraging given the age of the institution.
"May I also state that our Entrepreneurship and skills development center are blazing the trail with two of our students developing some products from local raw materials which we are trying to take to the next level. "
