ALGON kicks against Makinde's quit order to elected council chairmen in Oyo

Tension now mounts in Oyo State as the Chairman Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in the state Abbas Alesinloye vowed not to vacate office against the Council dissolution order by Governor Seyi Makinde.


The ALGON Chairman stated this while reacting to the order of the governor relating to council authorities and their accounts


According to him, the directive of the governor is illegal, undemocratic, violation of rule of law and a contempt of a subsisting court injunction against any dissolution of local government authorities.


He called on the Commissioner of Police, Director of State Security (DSS) and other security to be at alert and provide full security to all chairmen and council secretariats to repel possible attacks.
