The Gbongan-born prince was unanimously voted to contest the National Assembly election on the platform of ADP by all members of the party.

Speaking with newsmen after the excercise held at ADP secretariat in Iwo, the governorship candidate of the party in the September 22 election, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the excercise.

He described the exercise that led to choice of Babayemi as "democratic, fair and acceptable to members of the party", adding that ADP would never allow imposition in its fold.

He urged residents of the West Senatorial District to support ADP candidate, whom Adeoti described as the best for the position.

Speaking in similar vein, ADP party chairman for Osun state, Mr. Toye Akinola, noted that the party symbolises peace and offers better deal for Nigerians.

According to Akinola, Babayemi was elected as the ADP candidate because of his antecedents and urged electorate in the district to vote for him, to allow unhindered dividends of democracy for all and sundry.

Responding to his election as the ADP Senatorial candidate, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, assured that if elected into the Senate, projects that will add value to living and bring people out of poverty will be initiated.

Babayemi said: "you all know what I stand for. I know what the needs of our people in this district are. If elected, I will do my best to add value to living in our Senatorial District. It is a task that must be accomplished and with hard-work, we will achieve our goal."
